Just a question, if i have a gen 1 2004-2007 rx8 and want to put the gen 2 engine (2008 and up) in it with the extra oil port, will it work?

 

Not easily or cheaply. There are threads about this, read up.

 

Don't even try to go there. More costs and headaches than you want to tackle.

 

If ever there was something that's simply a bad idea - with overwhelming evidence to support it - it's this. Just buy an S2.

 

cody, honestly this is a non starter, listen to what others have already said.
Too expensive, not worth the headaches (if it were, many of us would have done it by now), and chance of failure is high.

get a well rebuilt S1 motor if yours ever goes out and call it a day.

This has been done twice. Neither car has a running S2 engine in it.

 

Rebuild or go home. Or just go find an R3.
