First RX-8 purchase....Hopefully
I am looking into picking up my first RX-8. However the one I'm looking at needs a little work. According to the post it runs and drives fine, the only issue is the clutch. It refuses to go into reverse.

My main question is, would it be an easy enough fix? Most likely through a shop.(If it is and anyone is from the PHX area, can you suggest a good shop for RX-8's?)
The car is having issues with its clutch currently. It is difficult if not impossible to put into reverse at the moment. Its not burned out, but something is preventing it from fully disengaging. Recently the clutch hydraulic cylinders have been replaced as well as the clutch itself. I suspect however the clutch pressure plate may have broken.

Make sure that after running the car and it is hot that it shuts off and starts right back up and doesn't take longer then 5 sec's if it does it will need a rebuild soon or the starter could be really slow

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Do you know if changing the pressure plate would be the same as most RWD standard trans?

yes just look up ppf alignment and proper torque sequence. start first checking the clutch pedal first, they re know to break. its a 10min fix with a welder though. first get a ROTARY SPECIFIC COMPRESSION TEST
