I bought an RX-8 for my first car BUT when I put the key in the ignition and turn it the light flicker and it turns over but will not start we believe it's flooded but not sure is there any ideas anyone has it would be greatly appreciated

third: when you make a help me thread, we need more info about the car. year, transmission type, miles on current engine, ignition components health, mods, etc. it's hard enough to interwebs diagnose

Normally no one here will recommend 8 as someone's first car. It's better to start with a Civic/Accord, something easy to work on to get the hang of car ownership.

Check your spark plugs, ignition coils, and wires. Also, get a rotary-specific compression test. It has to be done at a Mazda dealer or a rotary shop.

If the lights flicker and die when you turn the key in the ignition it's likely that your battery is dead.
