Firmware question

I was wondering if firmware or the factory ecu revision needs to be reflashed when doing a fresh rebuild? I am all hooked up and ready to start break in period, but wanna make sure the car has the latest version to address the oil starvation and other bugs. Any idea how to tell what version I'm on or if I need a revision? Thanks

Welcome,

Kind of depends on what version was on it before the rebuild. The big one that supposedly helped with everything was MSP 16. You can look for a sticker under the hood, or call the dealer with the VIN and they should be able to tell you.

For a fresh engine, if it were mine, I would run 1 oz per gallon of premix through it for the first 2 tanks, then half an ounce a gallon forever after that.

I have my oil deliver turned up (AP) and still premix.

So you took your omp off and adjusted position sensor? Or you have a manual omp adjuster? I had to get a new omp, and have yet to install it. Need to set position sensor at zero, but am not sure how.

Sorry,

AP is Access Port, I told it to move more oil at lower RPM.

As for setting up the new pump, there are some threads here. I am not exactly sure how, you loosen a few screws, turn the top, and tighten. I just am not sure what determines the "right" location. There are threads though, I have seen them. Just too old to remember the details.
