Have you done any research on possible issues?

The RX-8's power steering electrical connections are prone to getting dirty, which can cause all sorts of power steering problems. At low speeds, weak battery connections can kill the power steering as well.

Actually the PS warning light won't come on for most of the ways that our power steering fails.

Don't rely on warning lights

If you have disconnected the battery for anything you will get that. Sometimes it wont turn on a light. You might try a reset first, then go from there.
