Exhaust question

So, blew my engine, sending it for repairs soon. When I do, I might as well do some of the other stuff too. So, the questions is what makes the popping sounds in this video? Is it the resonating midpipe or the catback? I like the sound of the catback until it starts doing that popping sound. The one that sounds like a misfire.

I have a mid pipe and cat back, but I do not get the pops/miss fire the first part of the video, sounds like the car is running rich, possibly bad coils/plugs, but he is also reving when cold, he says only 3k which is not bad, anything else above that is not recommended while cold.
The pops/flames towards the ends of the video are normal and happens when you de-cat the 8.

Was just thinking, the first part could be normal once you remove/delete the air pump which I have yet to get around to it.

I live in Indiana and we don't have inspections so technically, i can run without the cat. Do you guys feel it's worth it? I don't want it loud or ricey. I like the low gutteral sound.

The popping varies from set up to set up. Some mid-pipe/cat back combinations do it, some don't.

I watched a video of a BHR catless midpipe and a greddy exhaust that sounded really good.

This setup sounds pretty good too
