Engine Cover Price

So I bought my 2007 RX-8 and it came with no engine cover, I decided to take a look on the interwebz to find out how much it would cost to get one. $60-$70!?!?!?!? WHY!!?!?!?

Is it because of the scarcity of the cover?

Is it vital to keeping air filters clean or something?

$60-$70 is ridiculous for a piece of plastic IMO lol

60-70 isn't that bad considering the price new, or a CF variant for a couple hundred. It serves no purpose other than ascetics.

60-70 is something really chip in comparison to what things usually go for regarding these cars

That's very true.

But man, at $60-$70 for a piece of plastic.... I might as well just machine one myself. At least it'll look cooler than way lol

Also, what do you mean by CF variant?

Still only half way done all in all, never finished tuning this year and lots not to add over the winter. Just won't be a priority for a couple more months. But more will come, its never finished.

Put 3K on it this year, ran rich but thats about all I manage. Turned into more of a straight project car.
