Driver door won't open
Driver door won't open
This an old issue that has caught up with me. Before I get flamed for not using he archives, I have tried that and while there is discussion about the problem there is no good description about how to remove the inner door panel with the door closed, This important to not having to climb over the center to enter the car, but I'm dealing with the most recent recall for fuel leaks but also the lower control replacement. Dealership won't that the the car unless the door is able to be opened. So even though this is an old issue any help would be appreciated.
The is no clear description because it doesn't exist. This is the single worst issue I ever had with my car and I nearly took a saw to my door.
The panels can be removed from inside by unlatching the rear door and it will still not open but will enough to get a few inches. But once you get the panel off you still have to get the lock to disengage and that is the hard part.

What if you only remove the inset around the handle and try to tug on the lock lines through there? Not sure if this is the same issue as the lock motor going weak, but when mine had that, I could lock unlock manually through there.
I got to work this morning after an uneventful ride and the drivers door wouldn't open from either the inside or the outside. Tried locking and unlocking it, even with the key but it seems to be the latch mechanism will not open. I painstakingly opened the door up and got my hand inside, behind the panel but the door latch mechanism is covered and I cant get it to open. Has anyone resolved this problem?
