Drive Pully

Putting on my trickle charger and noticed this.
Seems too close.
The drive pully on my Rx8 has a sprocket, which I'm not sure why it has to be a sprocket.

It would be this: Arrow in red.

It is so close to the connecting housing/bracket. I have a picture but it's not great. looking down from front of engine.
Is this normal? its like 1mm.
I'm having no problems... but...
Seems wrong. But I know nothing.

Thanks in advance

Hey, it's all good.
That part marked with the red arrow is your trigger wheel. very important part.
there is a sensor mounted in that part of the housing that reads your trigger wheel and sends the info to the computer.
this needs cleaning.

Why would it need to be farther? If those parts ever somehow move closer together, you have much bigger problems than the trigger wheel.
