Door not shutting as it should be

Thanks in advance

Having issues shutting the front left door on my 05, the door dont have that shut sound to it and it does not shut as it should.I have to close the door a few times for it to shut in the correct manner, sometimes it can close and sometimes it takes 4/5 attempts without slamming the door and doing extra damage.

I have looked everywhere and cant find any info.

You need to have the door lock mechanism looked at, no one here is going to be able to help you without being there. Or maybe your dress is getting caught in the door?

measure the space between your door and the fender and compare against a known proper closing car or the other side. could be one of your door bolts has backed out or a head has snapped off and that's why you have excess door play. Try lifting and shutting the door if that helps its a good sign of a loose door.

sorry pal but it was your girls knickers that got stuck, she has such a way of kicking them off.

Thanks pal.

I am going to have a look and a play with the hinges and see how that pans out.

She doesn't wear "knickers" so again, you probably just need to get the girl out of you and shut the damn door like a man.

Actually had a similar problem when I got my 8 last year, however, I'm guessing you've already tried what fixed it for me.

I liberally applied WD-40 to all door joints and locking contact points and that solved it for me and I haven't had any sticking or hard slams since.

Also ignore 9k, he's not a reputable member

(Just a note, WD40 is for water displacement ... WD ... it shouldn't be used as a lubricant unless it's extremely temporary. It will dry out, and it does remove the more permanent lubricants that were there.

I use something like
Amazon Amazon
to grease my actual hinges.
