dealership recall fail
dealership recall fail
So two weeks ago i called and made an appt for two recalls, and asked them if they needed to order parts first, i forget what excuse they told me but I said ok. Bring it in on the day and lady is very nice, says it should be ready later that day. later that day i get a call saying the parts were never ordered!
im just like ok when will it be ready they say tomorrow. get a call the next day, sorry to report the parts didnt come in and it should be ready the next day, **** me. at least they finally offered me a car to use, hmmm i wonder if it will be ready tomorrow.....

They hire any scabs?
I've been wanting to go on strike every contract for higher wages, but everyone always caves in.
Our raises have stayed the same amount every year and are basically cost of living increases, if that.
We don't make as much as most union skilled laborers, and non-skilled union workers make nearly as much.
The last contract was the only one in 17 years that got rejected the first time, and that was because of huge health insurance increases.
In this case, the main gripe was that you finish up at a technical school and start off as a lube jockey but never get moved up. Kind of hard to live in Chicago on $11-$12/hour with tech school loans.
I haven't seen much of that complaint in the papers lately so I guess they've moved on to uncompensated labor. I guess a lot of techs are working 50+ hour weeks but getting paid for 40 or fewer hours (depending on what the compensated labor rate for recall/warranty work is).
A Cadillac dealer nearby wheeled all of the striking mechanics tools out onto the lot. Right before a rainstorm.
On the other hand, a few dealerships are cooking food for the picketing mechanics.

Hmm, that's very unprofessional of them.
Too bad it's a recall. If it's a service I am paying for, I'd definitely ask for a discount.
The local Mazda dealership typically finishes the work on time. The one time they were late, they offered me 10% off the work, I believe. They don't offer loaners, though, although other dealerships in the area don't offer loaners, either. Must be a BC thing.

Dealers try to squeeze every dime out of everyone. Sickening.
End of hijack.
haha intresting stuff there, i remember watching a video on youtube about chrysler factory employees smoking weed and drinking on their lunch break and they didnt even get fired because they were in a union, i guess unions are good for something things and not others
Like I said, it's not all dealers. Some of them have a very good relationship with the union employees and the unions are fighting with the dealer association.
It is your poor dealer. My dealer won't even schedule warranty or recall work unless they know they have the parts in stock, and they always offer a loaner if it is going to take more than a couple hours to finish.
finally got a call at 7:30 saying it was ready today, meaning it was ready yesterday but got pushed aside, it has a slight suspension knock coming from the drivers side..... I assume maybe cuz its new and takes a few miles to smooth out?? anyone else notice this with the recall? thanks
