Couple of laps at Mid Ohio
Couple of laps at Mid Ohio in the new to me stock 2004 RX-8. Car did well. Driver could use some work. :-)

Good to see you're having fun with it, enjoy! Are you planning on doing some mods to your RX-8?

No mods in mind yet. I did plugs, wires, coils, cleaned MAF and eshaft sensor this past weekend and I think one of the new coils is bad. Idle is better now but acceleration is not smooth until high in the rpm band. I'm going to troubleshoot that tomorrow night. That issue did not exist before I did all the work. :-( No codes.
Here is another vid from the track day. https://youtu.be/QGWY50-uUjQ |
Awesome video. I've always wanted to get an 8 on track. Have only owned 7's over the years but looking to add an 8 to the garage finally...

Here is another vid from the track day. https://youtu.be/QGWY50-uUjQ Engine Power Loss • chokes as revs increase o O2 sensor failure (too rich) o MAF failure o MAF disconnected o e-shaft sensor fouled o accessory belt fraying • high end power loss (hard fuel cut) o Rev limit reached • high end power loss (jerky and stumbling) o Ignition failure o fuel pressure loss o e-shaft sensor fouled • high end power loss (smooth) o Catalytic converter clog o air filter clog • low end power loss (smooth) o Engine compression loss • low end power loss (stumbles) o Ignition failure o front O2 sensor failure • revs slowly but smoothly o O2 sensor failure (too lean) o catalytic converter clog o air filter clog • sudden power drop at a specific rpm o Intake valving actuation problem • trouble getting to redline o Ignition failure o front O2 sensor failure o catalytic converter clog o air filter clog o e-shaft sensor fouled o fuel pressure loss o MAF failure |
If you did the ESS + 20 brake stomp, it may take a few cycles for the computer to relearn engine management.
