coolant in cylinder

my coolant res. tank burst open and now when i pour coolant into it it winds up inside the cylinders. does this mean i have to buy a new engine?

1) Your coolant tank is located at the top front of the engine bay. If it burst open, you would have coolant leaking all over the fans below, which would then spray it around the engine bay. There is no direct path for this leaking coolant to get into your engine.

2) You don't have cylinders in the engine.

3) If you have had a coolant seal failure, which is letting coolant past the failed seals, then yes, it would mean you need a new engine.


I'm not confident that whomever gave you the diagnosis knows what they are talking about, and I'm not confident that you actually understand whatever problem you have.

How about starting over and giving us the story in as clear and precise wording as possible...

If you pour coolant in the tank, and it runs out the plug hole, things are very bad. Is that what is happening?
