AU Converted

Hi all.
New owner of a 2008 RX8 series 2.
Completly untouched gt that had 43000kms
Drove it from Melborne to Perth (3600kms) over 2 days. I got home had a shower and all I wanted to do was get back in and drive to somewhere else! What a great car.
I seem to be averaging about 11 to 12 litres to 100 kms if im sitting around speed limit say 110 to 120kph. is this what you would expect?
I actually thought it might be higher from what is said about them, so its not that im upset. Just interested to know if this is right.

not sure how that equates since I'm in the US. I get about 12-17 depending on how I'm riding the gas

21-ish MPG highway sounds about right, especially when you are going at that speed.

I get 13 MPG(18L/100km) in winter and city driving.

Sorry- yet another US poster (had to convert!), but, that's about right- actually, it's pretty good! Max MPG's @ 20-22mpg Means that your engine is working well (optimally)- good on ya!

Sounds about right! I find best mileage around 130kph. Usually I don't shift into 6ths below 110kph, on a feeling, but no data, that it gives better economy.

Hmm, I actually shift into 6th at around 93kph(3000 RPM cruising rule). BC speed limits are ridiculously low, so the fastest I can go on a highway near me is 105kph, and that's pushing the luck a bit.

S2 6th gear is a bit taller than S1 6th gear to help with fuel economy a bit.

Ya that's just it. I feel/have experienced (your mileage may vary) better milage when I don't drive below 4k at all. 4500 cruise seems to be best (which incidentally is where you fall at 130 in 6th). Lower revs doesn't automatically mean better efficiency, if you can give the engine a mechanical advantage
