I recently bought a 2006 RX-8 in copper red with the alcantara seats. I was curious to find my production number, so thinking it was a shinka I looked at this list https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discussion-3/production-serial-number-listing-06-shinkas-here-124394/ but I didn't find my Vin.. I emailed mazda, they confirmed it is "special edition" and gave me a production date but couldn't find a number. I asked what special edition it is, they said only one was in Canada, and there are only 200 of them. There is no shinka marking on my b pillar, but I think someone may of covered it with a vinyl wrap, you can kinda feel some badging under it. Is this a shinka or what edition do I have?

 

It is a Shinka. The Copper Red Mica color is specific to the Shinka. Got a pic?
