Cool man thanks. I'll see what Mazda has to say. I tend to keep my cars in pretty up to date shape but this is the oldest care age wise I have purchased and want to get things up to date and get whatever system things cleaned out I can so this engine lasts as long as possible. I need to call them anyways to discuss the damn airbag recall which they will probably throw me on the wait list for anyways.

No problem...

I took mine in today for the airbag recall. And discovered that the tech must have been too aggressive while working inside my car, because now there's a small tear in the drivers seat area. Last time I took it to the dealer my coolant level sensor came on as soon as I drove out and it stayed on even though the level was fine, and they told me I needed a new floater/bottle. It seems they can't fix things without messing up something else.

They want $260 for a de-carb and subsequent compression test, so I'm going to see if I can find some reputable instructions so me and a buddy can do the de-carb ourselves.

At least now I don't have to worry about the airbag exploding like a grenade and sending shrapnel through me and any passengers.

There are decarb DIYs on this site. The procedure is pretty easy. Have a look around.
