Read through Post #2 here: https://www.rx8club.com/mazdamaniac-...ctions-197783/
First install accessport manager on your PC and fully update it and the accessport.
Then plug it into your car and follow instructions to marry it. If you bought it second hand and it was not unmarried from the previous car, that unmarrying needs to happen first.
Read through the rest optionally. Making your own maps is a whole other discipline though, look up tutorials by a guy called Kane for a basic understanding. Did your AP come with the AccessTuner software? That's the one you need to generate maps. You may as well pay MazdaManiac to generate maps for you.

Regardless, it's pretty simple. Turn car on, connect to OBD2, find option to marry/tune.
BEFORE ALL OF THIS READ MORE... This is the basic level of knowledge you need to have before even just troubleshooting codes on your car. A good place to start, that is geared towards Cobb tuning is here:
So you want to be a tuner
Kane is a moderator and put this class on a few years back, he's not around much though so he might be hard to reach, but there's a lot of good info in the thread.
