Clutch Went Out Looking for Help to Verify Parts List

So my clutch went out and after looking for a lift to do it myself as I bought this car to learn to wrench I gave up and called around and surprisingly Mazda was the best price to change it out. Anyways I talked over the phone with a guy who was into rotary and he suggested I just buy my parts and bring them in since I discussed wanting to just go to an aluminum flywheel while they were in there.

Anyways if anyone has the time could you guys verify my parts list and give me a sanity check. Also does anyone know of a reputable source for the flywheel as it is now on backorder?

Could replace the clutch fork as well but you do realize that you will need to completely disassemble the ENTIRE transmission to replace all the seals right? Unless you have an issue with seals currently, I would just replace the clutch, flywheel and throwout bearings. If you do end up going this route, also change out your input shaft bearings if you are doing the seals anyways. It's incredibly risky to do this kind of disassembly because you could (and probably will) **** something up putting it back together. If the transmission is in that bad of shape, it would be easier to just have it replaced.

The rear one can be changed out easily, It's the front one that will require a lot of work.

The site says what is below.

"We recommend replacing the RX-8 transmission front and rear seals when re-installing the transmission to reduce the risk of leakage. The primary reason for leaks seems to be the large loads that are placed on the input shaft when re-installing the transmission, when it is common to have to hang the transmission on the input shaft at some point disturbing the seal. Hence, replacing the seals during re-installation is a wise idea. We offer both the front and rear Mazda OEM seals together as a kit."

I've never touched the seals. Only really need to replace them if leaking. I find with this transmission, the more you try to fix it, the more likely you'll end up breaking it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If the seals are no good, then replace them but I wouldn't touch them otherwise. You could replace just the rear seal if you want though. Takes about 10 minutes just pops out with a screwdriver.

The problem with doing the front is you may cause a leak even though it's a new seal. Another bonus, you wont know you have a leak until you bolt the whole thing back on and drive it. It's just not worth the risk unless it was leaking before you pulled the tranny.
