Clutch Pedal Squeak

Hey my clutch pedal started squeaking today and had a few questions about it. I remember reading in the new potential owner thread about how a squeaking pedal is a sign of failure.

"As a result of the NHTSA investigation, Mazda has extended the warranty on the clutch pedal assemblies to 100,000 miles*. If yours starts weakening or breaks, go see a dealer. If they don't believe you, bring your paperwork, or get it here. *Only North American RX-8's."

My question is about the warranty. I haven't exactly noticed anything wrong with my clutch pedal. The only real symptom that i know of is the actual noise itself. What kind of paperwork would i need to bring and how do i know if my clutch pedal is in fact weakening?

Is the clutch pedal warranty up to 100k without any year restrictions? I have a 2004

I believe in this case, the parts warranty is available for the 100k or 10 years, in which you would be 2 years out of warranty. I had a similar problem with my 04's clutch pedal assembly last year; eventually the clutch pedal wouldn't release properly so I had to bring it in. The repair (in my case) cost about $250 Cad. Its worth checking it out before it causes any trouble.

All the best!

Damn in that case maybe ill buy the bracket that reinforces the clutch pedal assembly. I was reading about people having it snap on them.

I figured that the shop that you brought it to would charge for labor. I'll definitely look into some local welding shops near me. Is taking off the clutch pedal hard?

its not hard but its a pita crawling under the dash. my brother owns a shop so i have access to his tools/lifts/welder etc. i doubt it would cost much if you have to pay someone to do it
