Car overheated and getting blue smoke

Hey everyone. 2007 with 30,000 miles. Plugs coils and wires changed 200 miles ago. Oil changed 600 miles ago.

Long story short, one of the rubber grommets dropped in, jammed a fan and caused my car to overheat. The temp gauge went up to 3/4. I have got the grommet out and both fans work fine now. Lost a bit of coolant. Topped it off now. All is good.

I don't drive the car often.

So I started my car after a week of not driving and a bit of smoke came out of the pipes for 10 seconds and stopped, and then it happened again after a minute. Stopped again. And again started smoking after a minute. They weren't noticeable on camera. But the video I've attached is the first time it happened and it was noticeable on camera.

Is this normal? Could it be because I blew an oil seal when I overheated?

I must mention that I've gutted my cat.

Thanks a lot.

Strong chance it is just startup. They are a but messy without a cat untill they get warm. I would take it easy just to be sure for a few days.

looks normal to me. i have an aftermarket exhaust w/o a cat, premix, and my omp it turned up via my cobb and mine smokes a lot more on start up. i only drive mine about once a week.

did you shut your car off as soon as you saw the temp needle move?

No. I did not shut it off as soon as it moved. I kept driving it. Kept the speed up and the revs low and the gauge went back to the middle. Whenever I idled, it went back up. After I took the grommet out, temps never exceed 212F and it never overheated.

I do not premix. Only mod is a gutted cat. So it's totally normal for it to smoke like that???

If your cat is gutted, why not premix? It's not like it will clog or burn up your cat.

I know. But that's not really point :P

I'm just worried why it smokes at startup.

Can anyone confirm that this is normal?

Mine smokes a bit on start up but after she's warmed up bye bye smoke. Is there any noticeable difference in performance? Does it idle fine? If smoke is the only thing you are noticing i'm sure it is fine. But hell, get it checked out. Couldn't hurt.

200.mph but you premix. That makes the car smoke. Is your smoke bluish in color?

Mine does that as well with a hi flow cat and cat back exhaust. That looks pretty normal to me. I think you're worrying way too much.
