Hi everyone! I'm currently in the process of getting another RX-8. I kinda got screwed on my first one, but i chalked that one up to a life lesson on the wankle engine. This one is a looker though and i was hoping someone has seen her before and could give me some info.

Yeah, i crept on his profile a bit, seemed like he was an active as heck. I found his car for sale and it looks almost exactly like it does in his pics. Except for the foggy headlights and dust coating. (dang Texas sun). Was hoping he was still active and could chat about it. Either way I hope to give it a good home.

Oh yeah, that's on the list of things to do asap. Gonna call around tomorrow and see who will do it. Even call the dealer cause tracking down a maintenance record for this thing is looking problematic.

 

On a good note, no smoke from anywhere, no oil leaks, no hot/cold start problems, shifts smoothly, and runs well. So at least nothing critically damning yet, Gotta stay positive!!!!!!

 

Where are you located? There may be a local member with a rotary compression tester.

I'm near San Antonio TX. I really hope to find someone close, if not, the dealership might be the next best thing.

 

IIRC, there was a pretty active SARX group. I know 9krpmrx8 still has at least 1.5 RX's hanging around and maybe a compression tester. Might want to talk to him and see if he's available.

I can tell you that it had an engine replacement by Mazda and that the car was very well maintained, Mike was OCD when it came to his cars.

 

This was it stock.

 

I'll go do that asap. Now this is why I like good car groups. the only thing that is different on that car now is someone de-badged the front

 

As for mods, when it was sold, it had BHR kit, Racing Beat Revi catback, Tein Basis coilovers, and a custom SARX Cobb tune.

 

Nice, I didn't see the ignition kit and I figured it had a tune on it. I'd love to know at what milage he sold it at and hopefully any work that got done after him. I'll make some calls to local Mazda places to see what I can find out.
