Smile Brittany has a question....

New owner of 2010 rx8.. what is the red lights uner the the rpm numbers 6-9.. they are split up in 3 segments... what do they do? What are they for.. I don't know what they are called to look it up lol

I believe that they are 'rpm redlines' based on engine temps.
For example: on a cold engine, the engine redline is the first bar, warm engine is next, and normal operating temps is the remainder.

That's exactly correct. As the engine warms up the redline increases and eventually the bars will go away and you will be left with your normal redline bar.
