Hi all! Introducing myself. Haven't been on a forum for awhile. Been wanting to get back in the rotary game for awhile. Owned 2 fc's a decade ago lmao and came across this 05' RX8. Heard from a friends buddy's shop that the owner didn't want the car anymore so The shop owner [with permission from the cars owner] sold it for 1k to me. Decided why the hell not. Needs TLC of course but interior was still mostly intact. So after a replacement NEW OEM engine with the issues the early rx8's suffered from resolved....shes now running and driving fairly well. Just needs a smog and cat [damn CA]. Below are pics when I got and how it looks now

Body looks pretty awesome for that price ! thats what I just paid for one in much worse condition but not east to find one for projects around me

 

I'd pay double if I could find one that clean near me... There is precisely one manual transmission car on CL within 500 miles of me right now. From a dealer asking an astronomical price... I've got a healthy cash budget for a good RX8, but can't find one to save my life!

You meant you bought a dead rx8 for 1k and whatever $$ to get it back to running condition. :D

 

I just bought an 8 for 1900 unfortunately its a salvage rebuild but it RUNS! it was the best deal i could find in the Oklahoma area. I had 2 RX7 before the 8.
