Bluetooth drain on car battery?
Hello, i have a bluetooth device that I plug into the centre console 12v outlet.
I like the centre console because it reduces the amount of wires that I have to expose.
I noticed that this outlet stays on (if something is plugged into it) even when the car is off, locked, and I am nowhere near it with the fob.
The device is set to automatically connect to my phone if it is within range, approx 20 ft.
When I am away from my car, and my phone is not connected, do you think that this device will kill my battery?
My rx8 is a 2009 R3, and he device is called the iClever Himbox HB01.
Thanks in advance!

I have that same device and have it in the same place. All total, my battery will drain to concerning-ly low levels in about 2 weeks, if I don't drive the car. Mine is a Grand Touring with all the electronic bells and whistles sucking on the battery constantly. By itself, the HB01 will not kill the battery overnight or anything like that. If I don't plan to drive the car for more than a few days, I plug it into a battery tender.

You can always check with a multimeter.
IMO if you hook up everything properly, it shouldn't drain the battery overnight.
I have a Valentine One that's connected to the OBD2 port at all times. The car starts just fine after sitting 1 or 2 days. If I am leaving my 8 behind, then I disconnect it.
