RX8 Automatic Transmission only moves forward in neutral. We have already replaced the computer for the transmission. It revs and nudges forward in park, but won't move. Reverse doesn't work either. My husband has spent many hours trouble shooting but can't find anything online that has helped. He has worked on with rotary engines (RX7's and RX8's) and worked at the Mazda Re-Man. facility for for years but this one has him stumped.

 

I'm not sure if this applies to the RX8 at all, but I have a very similar issue with my Altima. Turned out that the piece the shifter mounted to broke underneath the center console causing it to go completely out of alignment from the top plate which showed the shifter positions.
