TN apv

ssv and vdi are on the normal yearly maintenance and cleaning schedule

but what about he APV's ?

is it worth the effort to dismantle and clean these?, do they carbon up like the SSV ?

You take the SSV out and clean every year? I don't think I've ever done that unless it was needed.

I'm not sure you can even get it out without dropping the engine. However, I've almost never heard of it becoming clogged.

Take off front right wheel and remove the apv motor. You will see a white gear. If you can turn it easily with your fingers then it's fine. And yes you do have to pull the motor to fully remove the Lim.
