Another new owner.
Been reading/searching the forum for a week. Decided it was time to post.
Bought me a 2007 6 speed. So far loving the car. Surprised as to how well this thing can take corners. Only downside is, just one day of owning it the check engine light came on. "Secondary shutter vlave".

A lot of people end up with this issue. The majority of us are mechanically "gifted" is mabye the word. But, there are a few DIY's on here about how to Tear it all down and get it cleaned. Really not that hard just VERY time consuming. If your not completely comfortable with cars or engines or anything. DONT DO IT. I was told you can remove the upper intake and get a lot of it clean BUT you must be fast and get everything back together correclty and get the car started before the carbon re hardens. Anyway. Welcome. Any mods so far? Mileage? What number engine is your car on? Have you called mazda to check the recall's on your vin? Any questions?

Don't think I'm up to the task. Haha. Dealership said they'll "order the part" and get back to me. Telling me it's no big deal. Only downside is I live 3 hours away from the dealership.
Just hit 70k miles. 1st engine.
I have an aem intake that was sitting in the trunk when I bought the car. Need to install it. But I've been reading up on the turboxs exhaust thinking about getting that.

Honestly the Stock intake is the best. Remove the inner baffles and be done. The AEM CAI is the only one that comes close to as good and it's mainly just for looks. Any issue's you have bring them to this forum.. Enjoy
