Junk. The stock intake is VERY good. AEM, Racing Beat and Mazdaspeed (rebadged AEM) make very marginal improvements on it. Most other intakes lose power or produce unstable idle or other problems.
[edit] $429?!!! Jesus.
[edit2] This one is spectacularly bad. They retained the VFAD and just stuck a $30 K&N filter into $20 of aluminum tube and called it a day at $400+. No velocity stack, airflow straighteners questionable?

my thoughts too....does look nice
question: the stock rx8 air tube is higher than what most cold air intakes use with the bent drop tube
why: dont they use the same air space that mazda uses? (with out the switching assembly)
this would eliminate the water issue ??
seems like air flow thru/off the radiator would be so much better with the air box base out of the way

This is especially if there is no tune to account for the extra air assuming the intake indeed makes an improvement.
Then again, most people buy CAI for an eye candy in the engine bay so I guess this does the job.
Really, there isn't much you can do in an NA RX-8 to make that much power and make it still streetable. It's not like a piston engine where you can swap an agressive cam in. It just makes more sense to save up and then strap a turbocharger on if you want major power.
