Basically, right now its get 8.5 wide wheels or wait about a year. Debating if the wheels will still look good and not too narrow. Opinions please and thanks

It really depends on you, your opinion, and your driving style. By changing the wheel size you will learn a lot about your car's handling, for better or for worse. Some people like the steering feel of skinnier wheels. Others like the grip provided by wider wheels. I am on 18x9.5's atm. If it wasn't for a lack of power I'd go 11s in the rear, so my vote is often for wider (in the summer only tho).

Is your car lowered? Do you mind doing/needing a fender roll? If you are moving from stock 8s to aftermarket 8.5s I wouldn't bother, just get better tires.

Thx man and I like the look of a wide rear wheel too. Just looks mean even if we don't need it lol. I like handling and traction so wider would be beneficial. Currently not lowerrd yet and running pilot super sport 245/40s. Really good tire but don't hook up all that well at the 1/4 surprisingly. I wouldn't mind rollijg fenders

stock wheels are 8 inches wide
so to me moving to 8.5 is too insignificant and probably not worth the expense.

Just for quick clarification, I fit 18x9.5 wheels w/ 255/35/18 tires with no fender rolling (and have quite a bit of room left too).

My goal is to put the tire flush or at least close to flush.

These are the rims i've been searching for so i would love to make them work.

Any suggestions?
If you do not want to deal with rolling and shaving off any tabs, find out if they can make the 18 x 9.5 wheels with the same offset I suggested above with your tires stretched. But if you want your tires to look box, you need to get at least a +45 offset on a 265/35 or wider tires. I've posted this in the previous three pages, my square set-up are 18 x 9.5 +38 wheels with 245/40/18 tires.

That tire size may have a more limited choice of tires tho.

245/40/18 is as common as a stock RX-8's 225/40/18 than any size tire with a "35" profile.

Ok. First and foremost, I love the stock rims for the 8, but IMO, too damn skinny at the back. In the front it doesnt matter that much, but on the back you can really tell the difference. I have a set of XXR's that are 8" wide in the front and 9" in the back with a 38 mm offset, and damn does it look good from the back. Not to mention the grip. If you dont wanna do the 2x2 like I did, I'd go with a full set of 9"s.

I hope you are talking only about cosmetics and not about performance.
