ive been offered a 190 engine. ..supposedly perfect. ..out of a crashed car...
50k miles or km...duno til i get there...
if it has good compression. .. (won't be buying otherwise )
they are looking for 500 euro...
thats 600 ish dollars. ..

rebuild my own or take a gamble on this engine. ..
mine is a 190 by the way with 65.000 miles...warm start problem. ..cuts out at low revs when warm..starts cold..runs fine over 1000revs
keep in mind here in Ireland. .500-1000 euros is the going rate for any 2nd hand engine. ..

 

If it has good compression, of course, go for it. And you get a free cat, which is worth quite a bit and you save time having a known good engine.
Even if it has poor compression, it could be a source of big parts, in case you need to replace an iron or a housing during your rebuild.

he swears its a good engine and i can basically have anything i want off the car for 500...
oxygen sensors and coils are gone tho...there's a surprise. ..haha
