2005 Mazda rx8, help with troubleshooting

I own a 2005 rx8 and I stopped driving it for about 3 days and when I went to go start it it didn't work. It was continuously cranking without actually starting up. I've cleaned my spark plugs and then replaced them. I tried the deflooding process consisting of removing the fuel pump fuse and cranking with the gas pedal pressed down for 10 seconds with 20 seconds rest In between for about 6-8 times and then putting the fuel pump fuse back in and doing the same process for cranking. I tried this the first day and second day and got nothing but the third day it started up for about 30-45 seconds and I was even pressing the gas when it started to die but it just wouldn't stay. It's been about 4 days since then and it still hasn't started up. I'm not sure what else to do besides a compression test, and if that doesn't tell me my problem then what else could it possibly be?

If your car is manual, try to pull start it.

How many miles? Have you tested the coils?

I highly recommend reading the new and potential owners sticky found at the top of the new members forum

Unfortunately it isn't manual. It's semi-automatic. It has just under 70k

Lol I didn't mean it as an assault rifle. But it has the manual gear shifts on the steering wheel. Just doesn't have a clutch. And does it say on the new member forum how to test the coils if the car won't start?

It will give you a lot of info on this car. And I recommended BOTH threads because of the info they offer.

You'll do well on the forums by listening to the advice people give you. Just a word of advice.
