2004 rx8 oil cooler pipes

Hi I just purchased my first rx8 but it does have a oil leak from the top oil cooler pipe on the Passanger. Site... I was just wondering how easy it is to replace and would you recommend oem part or one from ebay?

OEM would always last longer. But it's price might be a little high but you can always go to a website like this Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and put in you're car and oil cooler and you could call one of the junk yard and ask them about the oil cooler line and you might be able to pick one up cheep shipped

Just try to get a pipe from a junkyard. Mazda charges a fortune for these parts.

The junkyard pipes might have the same problem. Depends on your climate, if there is salt on the roads this is inevitably what happens.

Racing Beat makes a nice braided steel set, but OEM will do fine. Depends how much you want to spend.

I would only replace the leaking one, unless you see the other ones are heavily corroded too. It's not particularly fun work.

I don't think the other one is that bad I got a funny feeling that the other might have been the one that was done on a recall thanks for your advice

Check out Racing Beat, I think they have oil cooler pipe.
I personally used JB weld, worked well.

Bunch of the usual not helpful replies running someone in circles.

Look, you need to figure out what specifically is leaking or the actual issue at hand. You don’t replace the whole pipe or flex hose section or even the entire thing if the seal at a joint is leaking. That’d just be peeing away resources. What you get off some crashed and trashed junk yard dog might not be any better. Not a single person bothered to confirm what the actual problem is. Pretty dang sad.

as someone that installed the noted aftermarket system on someone else’s car I can’t really recommend it myself. It’s a big pitb job and replacing the entire system should only be done if there’s a really serious issue, like the entire thing is rotting out etc.

Maybe this will help to explain/understand what the actual issue is:
