150k Miles on my 2006 RX8 Shinka
<cool story bro>
I broke 150k miles on my 2006 RX8 Shinka today! Yay!
I'm located in Iowa so it's not been an easy lifestyle for the car; weather and roads are a constant issue, but all-in-all, she's still in great shape.
Various components have been replaced including the calipers, booster, clutch, flywheel and struts, but no major engine repairs have been needed and I'm still pulling strong, solid power out of the original motor. Oil consumption is within normal expectations (when I'm not WOT all afternoon) and general fuel mileage has remained steady.
I don't know why but I'm inexplicably compelled to share this news on the forum - I know it's nothing terribly exciting but my last rotary (86' 7 GXL) only held on until 72k, so I'm pretty happy to have come this far with my 8.
Also, my VIN ends with 5000 - from what I can gather, this car was physically the last production unit built for the 2006 Shinka export line. (I can't entirely verify this; it was described to me by the dealer who thought he had picked himself up something special at the auction, when he purchased this car.)

Glad to hear both stories. Mostly we get posts from people with problems...sows fear among the rest of us.
I feel comforted. Thanks for taking the trouble to share!
