05 Mazda Rx8 Won't Start

Hey guys, I am new to the group. I purchased a 05 Mazda Rx8 a few days ago. Car has 127k. I have looked at thousands of forums and still can't get my car started. It cranks but no start. Will almost start, but just doesn't have enough power to fire up. The car was flooded, I removed the 20 amp yellow fuel pump fuse and pulled all the plugs and sprayed in some oil in the ports, pumped the old gas out of pump and replaced it with fresh 93 octane, still nothing! Fuel pump appears to be working correctly. After several attempts of trying to start it, with the gas pedal all the way down and vis versa, I noticed the top 2 plugs are flooded while the bottom plugs remain dry. Any clue what that could mean? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I've done everything to the best of my knowledge, any new ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm wondering if I should replace the coils and plugs? Is it possible that my Cat is clogged? Or sadly, is my engine toasted? Thank You

1. Get the compression test. You need a rotary specific tester, so go to a Mazda dealership or rotary shop.

2. Check your coils. If they have white spots under them, you need new ones.

I will look into Purchasing a Compression Tester. Coils have no grey marks on the back of them. What is normal compression for a rx8?

whits/grey marks on the bottom of coils dont mean ****. theres a site vendor here that sells comp testers for ~300. as far as ignition, once you confirm compression buy a bhr kit and forget about changing coils

Read the new owner's thread. You would have to normalize your numbers at foxed.ca

I will take your words for it since you probably saw more coils than I ever did.

Agreed that BHR ignitions are the best bang for the buck.
