04' Will crank but wont fire
So I go out and purchase my barbie dream car (04 cobalt blue rx8 6 speed) first day the drive shaft falls out. Fixed that. Took her for a test drive and she shuts off while driving and wont turn back on. I got her to the house today; replaced all four coil packs after determining that it was not the fuel pump, and she still wont fire. So here's my issue... With the clutch fully engaged i turn the key to try and start and it sounds like the rotary is trying to start up but the engine just wont fire to start. I know its not the starter simply because the car is trying to fire it just wont. I was wondering if there is a fuel relay other than a fuse i can check ( a reset?). Or if it could possibly be something with the thieft system ?

There is bo good reason for the driveshaft to fall out, somebody has been messing with it. You need to be talking to the previous owner about all of this.
Did you get it compression tested and inspected before buying?

I bought it from a shady car lot so no. Honestly I was far to excited to think about it in my girly state of mind. The u-joint busted out on me and dropped the shaft i replaced the entire though so that's fine. How can I unflood the engine? And i totally didn't think about the right order for the coils i just threw them on there last night when i got home but i know the correct order for them so ill remove them and reassemble them correctly when i get home. I was thinking it may have something to do with the alternator bc the battery was boiling when i popped the hood to try and figure out why i lost power after i tried to shift to third

sounds like a ton of issues. the coil placement doesnt matter but the wires to plugs do. l1, l2, t1,t2 iirc. easiest was to deflood is to pull start it in 2nd gear and pop the clutch. boiling battery sounds like maybe overcharging. when did you buy it? can you return it? sounds like you are in over your head. did you replace the entire driveshaft?

I figured the coils didn't matter. And ive had it four days now. I called the morning after purchase due to the driveshaft and it pretty much a big F U when i asked for some of money back. If it is overcharging, what would be causing it? The alternator looks brand new. And if it wont fire can i still deflood it by popping the clutch?

pull starting it like any other m/t car (like with a dead battery) is an easy way to deflood if its the problem but it sounds like you have a lot of problems

What are the consumer protection laws like in your state? Sounds like you might need them.
Another way to deflood is to press the gas to the floor then turn the key. Crank for 5 seconds, stop, wait 10 seconds, repeat. It won't start, this is normal. After 3-4 of those, try to start normally.
But first get your coils and wires in order. Then the overcharging situation. A multimeter should confirm/deny if it's overcharging. And be careful, that battery could blow and spray acid everywhere. Wear eye and skin protection. Or bring it to a shop to look at.
