How much is my RX8 worth without the engine??
Ok so I seized my engine and I don't have enough money for a rebuilt so I have to sell my car to get some transportation. Anyone know what a fair price to ask for the car as it is.??
it depends on the condition of the car. if it's in almost perfect condition you might get 2500 out of it with a bad engine.
How did you seize it? that's not a common rx8 failure.

Yeah I did that and pulled engine out to find out what the damages were and it was worse than I expected. 2 of the irons were cracked and most of apex seals were broken so housing is no good either.
how much is a new engine these days? i am not sure if they are around $4000 or below it wouldn't be worth it to buy a new engine and sell it with a new engine. I dont know but that seems like you would get more money for a car with a new engine than no engine... just my $.02
Water damage is a tough one, it can cause all sorts of issues. But without knowing the condition, model, year, etc. it is hard to put a value on it. But my buddy buys RX-8's and resells them and typically he doesn't pay more than $1500.00 for even clean GT's with blown engines. He recently bought a 06 Shinka with a blown engine for under $2,000.00 and even has a 2008 Auto that I found for under $3,000.00 because they thought it had a blown engine, which it did not, and it was also still under the 8 year/100k warranty.
Non running RX-8's are essentially worthless since even a basic rebuilt engine will run you $2500.00 just for the engine alone and a well running 2004-2005 is only worth $5,000.00-$6,000.00 on a good day and even less if you look around.
