*****please help*****

I have a 04 rx8...it just all of a sudden wont start.....the starter sounds like its spinning but not kicking out....problem arrised out of nowhere and its my only transportation i replaced the starter with one from a 08 and still the same damn problem....anybody please help!!!!

Pull the starter out and check the ring gear.

Yeah its the ring gear spinning on the flywheel. I had the same problem. You could remove the starter, and through the hole make sure the ring is positioned square on the flywheel again and put a few tack welds on to hold it in place again. you will need to turn the engine by hand to get the flywheel to rotate so you can do the tacks around it.

Stay out of the teeth on the ring and a few good small tacks should hold it if you get enough penetration. I would use a mig welder. I just swapped out my entire clutch as it needed one anyway. If your car is a auto you can still do the same to fix it.

Yea it was ring gear guys....thanks i appreciate it.....im actually dropping the tranny now!!

I think they were hinting that if it has not come off, you can do it through the starter hole. Right guys?
