Zoomy.
That was originally his name. Not very imaginative, but after the test drive I decided Mazda's slogan was right, and he was Zoomy.
I just ordered a custom plate: ZOOM-X8. So his mother would call him Zoom. For formal occasions, he'd be introduced as Mr. X8.
And Zoomy is his nickname.

My girlfriend insists on calling her Knight Rider.... Because shes black and she said the display on the inside that has the clock etc. looks like the little red line that goes back and forth on kit lol.

You do know that is a Beatles song right? My first horse's name was Penny Lane.. And she gave birth to Sgt. Pepper... We name all our horses's after Beatles songs...
My car's name is Flea... I also call her my super sexy boogieman slayer.

I had a hard time naming her at first. I knew I wanted a girls name, something beautiful. Thought about Japanese names but I don't know many.
Finally came up with Penny Lane, as in Kate Hudson's Character from Almost Famous aka Untitled, and I have been using that.
The characters real name is Lady Goodman, so I can also just call her Lady. I mistakenly thought that her real name was Duchess so I have also called my 8 that.
My one friend has the jacket like she wears in the movie, and I'm looking forward to driving her in the 8 with the jacket if we ever find the time.

I call my 8, "my Japanese Girlfriend". I make my relationship with my 8 seem like an affair outside of my marriage. After a few days of not driving her I have the following conversation with my wife.
*wife and I get in car*
Me: "I love you, you feeling okay?"
Wife: "Ooo baby, I love you too, I'm feeling..."
Me: *rudely interrupting my wife* "I was talking to my Japanese Girlfriend!" *Stroking dashboard*
I whisper words of love and encouragement to My Japanese Girlfriend on a regular basis.... I only chastize her about her heavy drinking while pumping her full...

I always love the name of my car threads.
As yet I've not named this car. I'm leaning towards WEAPN-X as a vague reference to Wolverine since its yellow. Although to fit the female need of the name perhaps a reference to X-23.
I usually wait for the emotional attachment before I name a car. I try to go with girl names as its difficult for me to "get into a guy" every day
My S4 was Kara
My WRX was Pearl
My Mirage was Ruby

I really didn't name it, and it's stupid, but a friend that I happen to pass at a high rate of speed evey morning dubbed it the Gray Ghost. So I call it "GG", but I prefer it as "GiGi"..........sleek, sexy and kinda exotic!

My black '85 Rx7 GSL was called Boris (because it was evil & got me in a lot of trouble). So naturally when I got the white '90 GTUs I named it Natasha. 2 /12 years in I still haven't come up with a suitable name for my silver '05 Rx8. I've been thinking about Wiley, since I have a Wile E. Coyote that rides shotgun.
