MA Weird Sounds

Wow, it's been so long since I've been checking this site regularly...! Anyway, my car has been acting up and making a weird sound. It sounds as though its from the transmission (this loud whirring sound). I know our cars make the "jetsons car" sound naturally but mine sounds a bit abnormal as of late (ALOT louder). I changed my transmission fluid and differential fluid thinking that it was the problem (redline and eneos) but it hasn't changed at all. I was wondering if anyone is blessed with the skill of knowing what's wrong with a car just by the sound or if anyone is around to take a look at it that would be awesome! I live in the Brookline area.

I really hope someone will tell me I'm paranoid and that it's not a serious problem!

what type of fluid did you fill up with? Does it happen at speed, under load? Or idling?

Can you give any information about when it occurs and when it doesn't occur? If it's transmission related, then typically it will fluctuate or change or appear/disappear based on RPM, wheel speed, and/or clutch engagement.

A quick guess is that it's going to be your throwout bearing (or release bearing, depending on what you call it)

I don't think it happens when the car is idling. When I started the car today though, I def heard a loud start which is abnormal. It happens when I'm pressing on the gas or coasting in gear or in neutral.

I used MT-90 redline for the trans fluid and Eneos GL-5 75w90 for the diff
Thanks for the replies!

Yeah, my guess would be the throwout bearing.
