Hey everyone, I know I haven’t been on the forums in a while, put I do check in every now and then. I want to let everyone know about the Wayne Mazda meet coming up in July. I am giving over a month’s worth notice of the event and would like to have a good showing of RX-8s there. Last year, I did the same thing and we were able to have 13-15 RX-8s show up. Wayne Mazda has the largest inventory of RX-8s on the east coast and their service center is by far, one of the best. They have informed me of recalls and other misc. stuff before it ever reached the forums sometimes.

This year, the meet is going to be different. I spoke with the service manager, Steve, and he told me they were given a budget and that they are going all out. A radio station is going to be coming by to host their show for 2 hours during the meet, along with BBQ and ice cream. The meet is a lot of fun guys. Last year gave us a chance to meet each other for the first time and see the progress of everyone’s cars. There was one of the first Greddy Turbos at the meet.

As more information becomes available, I will update the thread. I would like to get a recall started and I will update it as quickly as possible. Again, this is a great meet to come to. Being a member of the RX-8 Tri-State club, I informed Wayne, and we did a small write-up of the event. I will try and do the same if people would like to join the club if they haven’t already.

Chrism, that was the first time I had met you. I hope we can get everyone out. It was a great turnout last year and there is more being offered this year. Steve also informed me of two Mazda show cars that will be on displayed from Mazda that were used in the NYC auto show, if I am correct. I will get more info on that on Monday and update. Don't mean to mis-inform

That was my VR with the Greddy turbo - I am also the guy who blew his engine about 2 weeks ago running 9 lbs boost. I did have Interceptor, although I had not had car tuned properly after install.
My car was at the "New" Mothers in Lodi for 2 weeks - What a ******* nightmare - engine was damaged beyond repair and they did not want to work on car after 2 weeks. I had to have car towed to KD Rotary in PA., cost $500. But I know Dave, who is a great guy and I trust him totally. He is putting in a Mazda reman engine and will reduce boost to 7 lbs, I would rather be a little conservative than take a chance on the new engine.

I was thinking the same exact thing...im not so surei could attend since it is the day before.

 

im gonna be waxing my car im sure all day before rotorfest

 

just wax it 2 days before and wash it again after this meet~ come on chris, come! haha.

as for the guy who blew his engine... man sorry to hear about that. did they give you a time frame for when they'll have it done by and how much? good luck with it, hope to see ur car there

Count me in. Got my baby 2 months ago from Wayne. Live right next door in Fairfield. Looking to see what everyone's doing to their cars. Itching for ideas to start modding

Kel, I'm not surewhat they are going to do because it is supposed to be bigger than last year. It doesn't hurt to come by for an hour or 2 and hang out. The event starts early too, so you could come by and then leave by 1 and detail the rest of the day lol. You plan on going turbo soon? I remember your car being one of the first getting mods done. Interested to see where you are at now with the car. I did get the supra I always wanted. Its in the shop right now having some work done, but should be ready for the Wayne Mazda show.

CPO32, welcome to club. As we get closer to the event, I will contact Wayne from the Tri-state club and get some membership forms if you would like to join. I know there hasn't been much from the club but there are a few discounts and some upcoming meets I think.
