Excited for this. Will wipe out my college kid bank account but very excited.

 

I would recommend against purchasing a helmet from that eBay site. I just received mine from that site and ordered an XL that would be better fit for a 8 year old.

 

grr not cool ;-( The one I got a few years ago is really too small as well, but I only need to wear it for 20-30 minutes at a time, so I deal.

Helmets are something you should prooooobably try on and buy in person, but to save a few bucks you can't be the internetz....



In other news, is everyone all set for sunday??? Remember you should probably get there around 7:00 AM. It takes a while to get your car and everything set, then you have to do tech inspection BEFORE 8 and there's sometimes a line, and be ready for mandatory driver's meeting at 8AM sharp.

It looks like we're going to get a lot of track time, they have 5 sessions scheduled per group, which is the most I've seen.

Well i feel kinda bad now, the helmet *does* fit... but, wow it hurts to put on. I mean ... oooooooooowwwwwwwwww

 

Its supposed to, it will expand and fit to form as you use it...

 

Hey elysium , Im assuming that we are the student group, I just wanna double check,,,

 

Well, speak for yourself ;-) Yeah if you've never run a track day before you'll be in the student group and should get an instructor with you for the first session or two. And I believe there's a student "classroom" session in the morning as well, they'll go over basic rules, flags, etc.

On another note, I got my video cam hooked up, it's pretty sweet. Also, I'm bringing a dSLR so we should take some nice pics....

Last thing, definitely look over some video of the track to get a feel for the line, instead of spending your first dozen laps doing so.... This guy's a fine example ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfyeqK2AeOo )

Hey guys great event words cant express how f-ing badass being on the track ringing the **** outta the car feels,, to qoute Dan,"F car shows why the hell would I want to sit in a parking lot when I could be on a track"

 

word homz! sitting pretty is cool and all, but once you take the whip out on the track and push it to it's limits, all that show stuff goes outta the window. that's why i stopped caring about how my car looks and started to concentrate on enjoying what the car can actually do.

you have no idea what this car is capable of until you track it. you think you like the 8 now, wait til you put that helmet on...

I can not express how much fun it really was.

elysium dont think I was serious in saying it was your fault tightening that bleeder nut on the caliper, it was already gone by then,,, trying to track down the source of the problem now and should have monitored my pads better,,,
