Taillight eyelids question

I have been thinking of putting CF eyelids on my taillights similar to the picture below but i am wondering how illegal this is?

I believe you would still be able to see the reflectors and lights 500 feet away since a lot of the light is visible and its not tinted\

I live in Nj currently.

Any thoughts?

why would you want to make the rear end look sleepy? not to mention CF eyelids without the trunk in cf would look horrible. not to mention if you used cf vinyl, it would be double horrible.

Hey I noticed you were talking about eyelids for the tail lights of an rx8... I've been searching forever on where to buy a pair. Can you help me out? Again tail lights, not headlights.

I doubt you can buy them, you'd have to make them. As you can see in that picture, it's just a straight line.
