Suggested tint darkness for Titanium Gray

Looking to get my car windows tinted, even including the front side windows. I actually have a legitimate doctor's exception, so I could apparently have up to near limo-tint and get away with it. There's no way I'm going to 0 percent, but its a nice freedom to have.

I was thinking about 35 percent, as a coworker of mine has 35 percent on his Mazdaspeed 3, same color, and it seems to match very well. Anyone have any pictures with a titanium gray tinted like this? The RX8 has smaller windows than the Speed3, so I'm a little worried that it may look too dark.

You should be fine. I have 15% and it goes real well. The highest I would go is 20%.

I have 15 on a BB and I like it. I think a Titanium with black windows looks fine so any shade you get should look good.

Are you trying to achieve the tint blending into the Ti Gray? If that is the case 35% may get the results you want. Honestly 20% is better is darker won't blend into the Ti Gray but will keep you cooler.

It all boils down to preferance. What do you prefer? I have a BB I will be getting 20%

PS THIS IS MY 1,000 POST WOOHOO....

^ lol Jeff..

RR, it really depends on your preference. I think 35% is a really good percentage. You shouldn't get hassled for it either in NJ. And in the very unlikely event that you do, you've got the doctor's note anyway.

Any darker than 35% is too dark, IMO (unless you absolutely hate being seen- mostly during daytime).

Looking mostly for a match in color, not to provide privacy. Anything darker than 35 percent in NJ, the police will tend to hassle you for, especially in northern Bergen County.

35% always seems too light to me. It's almost hard to tell that it's tinted.
0% would not allow you to see out, I think you ar ethinking of 5%...

I'm planning on 20% around the back, and 35% on the driver and passenger windows. I think that will look good without drawing too much attention.
