Spring Run 2010 - New England - June 12 / 13
CANCELLED
Ok rotards - it's time to pull together the
2010 Spring Run
Saturday & Sunday, June 12 & 13
We are hammering out details regarding routes, roads, stays and exactly where to start and finish. It's safe to say we all loved the Hurricane Mountain road last year so that one seems like it should be a definite again this year.
Meeting in NH in the Tilton area (roughly . . . we'll determine exactly where once the routes are set) and the time will be set as 10.30 am so we can get on the road around 11. This leaves room for those of us making a 1-2 hour trek to start this shizzz enough time to get there without getting up at the crack of dawn.
We have Otakurx (Mike) and DRKSYDE (Ian) as locals in the New Hampshah area and they have graciously agreed to lead the way through some of the twisty mountain roads they call home.
::Rotary Amuse:: (Rick) and DRKSYDE are also working on possible swag and Mazda goodies to be included in the fun.
Here's a post regarding the details we have yet to nail down. Please feel free to chime in on anything you like or dislike and add your name to the list of attendees.
I can't wait to meet some new faces and see some old favorites!!
Attendees:
::Rotary Amuse:: - Rick
RIWWP - Mike
Otakurx - Mike +1?
Nipmuck - Scott & Jan
DRKSYDE - Ian
dmc27 - Dennis

One day or Two? Anyone up for trying to set up a Synaptic3 BBQ day as was planned last year? T-shirts? Any suggestions from last year or anything that you want to see again from last year? In my opinion, last year was a lot of fun; but I am sure we can find ways to make it better.
Things to consider:
Hurricane Mountain Road
Kancamagus Highway
Bear Knotch Road
Synaptic3 Shop Tour / BBQ / Dyno Day
Mazda Support
Shop / Manufacturer sponsorship (give aways, raffles, discounts.)
Mazda Tech Demo (not sure if we can pull this off, but can look into what we can get)
Mt. Washington Hill Climb
Hike / Swim / Nature
BBQ / Picnic
Dinner Locations
Specific roads in the area that you think would be good
What clubs to invite? RX-7Club / RX-8Club +? (note the less the easier to manage, but the more the merrier)
It looks like sometime in June might be the best option; but if you are interested in going, please post up when you can make it and we'll have to see what dates work for all of us.

Sign me up as well. Got a new 2009 black mica at the end of winter
One issue I see however, being a motorcyclist as well, is that the current dates chosen is the first weekend of New Hampshire's Bike Week - June 12th-20th

Date change or route change?
Maybe a similar route to what we did in 07 would be best. Rt 9 through VT and up into the NY area.
Thoughts?

I won't be able to do this in June - if at all this summer. Money just became insanely tight. Someone else will have to pick this up and go with it if it is to happen.
Sorry y'all.

I just found out my girlfriend and all of our friends had planned a camping trip in western Massachusetts for that weekend, so I am not going to be able to make the 12th and 13th (the weekend after is a bachelor party camping trip to Maine, so I cant make that weekend either.)
I move to reschedule the event. I can still help with organization. I know there has been a lot of scheduling conflicts. If this is the only weekend everyone can do it, then go ahead with it.
Josh- once everything is finalized I will post it up on NEPOC. We had some MS6s last year; the variety was good. I don't think we want it to be as big of an event as the Cape cruise is though; harder to manage especially when tourist season is in the full swing of things.
