So, I get home last night from West Chester and realize that someone pulled my mirror off and pushed the casing in... all the wires are still in tact (it looks) so it's someone who clearly wanted an RX8 mirror. I'm going to f-cking destroy and mutilate whoever did it if they are ever unfortunate enough to be found out. Who does this to people?

probably not cause there wouldve been a bit more visiible damage to the mirror housing. That and the fact that the mirror would either be cracked on the housing itself or on the ground shattered.

Either way dont let it ruin your day too much easy fix im sure you can get one cheap.

 

Nope, not neccessarily true, I brought it up because it happened to me, There is a community gate where I live and one evening I was exiting and just when I was passing it, it decided to start shutting again, and walla pop goes the mirror, they're made to give way when hit and it just popped off hardly any scratches at all in the paint...

meaning there was some physical visible damage to indicate that it happened. If i am not mistaken our mirrors fold both directions. Had a truck/suv hit it by mistake the mirror wouldve folded all the way or endured some visible damamge.

Either way I see yor point...but I think it wouldve been a lil more clear had it happened that way.

 

Thanks! I am lucky, they definitely could have ripped the whole thing off. I called Mazda, the new glass would be $34.

 

The reason I say no is because I was in a lot with my rear bumper against the fence... and when I went back to it there was no mirror anywhere. So unless som SUV backed up into me hardcore and then just flew off then I highly doubt it. Anything is possible though.
