Well, it is still only a thought but I want to get some meets started in Long Island. If anyone has any good ideas on locations/times/ect, please chime in here. I'm sure there are a lot of 8 owners in and around the island that would love for this to take place.

Im sure weekends would be best for most people but I could be wrong. Anyways, I want to make this happen. So everyone interested, please let your voices be heard!

ok i hope not to come off like an A$$ but heres some friendly advice on howto plan a meet. Pick a date and a location. Dont give people options it works ALOT better that way, trust me ive set up a couple of the Meets last year. There is no way you will get EVERY1 to agree just not possible.

I am def down for a meet, I am starting a new job next monday so i am unsure where I will be located.

If you plan on meeting on Long Island the best spot is roosevelt field mall. Centrally located, lots of space and most people know where it is.

I also liked Eisenhower since its close to hooters and it seems where meets always end up.

i coordinated one with some of my old car club last year at jones beach and it came out to be a success.....we had 30 cars come out and there are spots right on the beach where you could bbq and set up camp.....just gotta get there real early in the morning on weekends cuz it gets real busy....but if you get a good spot then it could be hella fun!

I dont think you are allowed to have a BBQ at jones.

The other idea would be to get a place like eisenhower park, it would require a fee to get a spot

you can have a bbq at jones at field 6.....there are fire pits there....but space is limited....trust me on this one...unless they changed the rules since last 4th of july

Okay, guys. I'm thinking a weekend in May or something like that. Maybe Saturday/Sunday, May 14/15 w/ a rain date of Saturday/Sunday, May 28/29. We'll do it at one of the beaches like Jones or something where we can BBQ. If anyone else has any ideas, please list them.

Since I started this, I will be bringing a hibachi or grill of some sort (if none are provided at the beach) and food like hotdogs, burgers, chicken, salad, ect. I'll supply the food and cooking gear so all you all have to bring are your 8's.

Let me know if it sounds okay to everyone and I'll need to know how many people are coming so I know about how much food to buy and stuff.

Don't worry about the food, it's all on me for this meet. Bring whatever else you'd like, just let me know how many of you are coming!

Not at all man. A membership to Costco + being tax exempt can go a long way, especially when buying groceries. 50 hotdogs for $18 and 40 burgers for $20 isn't bad at all... it isn't going to break my bank whatsoever.

Like I said, I'm bringing the food for everyone; I've already decided that! ^_^

I'm figuring it'll be about $60-80 for the food, utensils, paper/plastic plates, condiments, ect. That's not much at all...

I tend to overbuy when it comes to food and stuff anyways. It really doesn't matter the cost as long as everybody has fun; then it will be well worth it.

depending on the date im in...i know i have plans the 3rd week in may....other than that a bbq sounds like fun.....and ofcourse we cant forget to bring the supersoakers!

Okay, I'm going to set the date as Saturday; May 14 @ 10:00am at Jones Beach. That is the second weekend of May and hopefully the weather will cooperate with us.
