Post your winter blues here

I got the winter blues!

It's the winter, but yet it's not cold enough. I have to drive more conservatively to conserve the winter tires in these temperatures (and the 8 begs to be driven!). No more full throttle in 1st, and taking ramps slower.

And there's no snow to slide around in! What kind of winter is this? All we have are salty roads. (Ok, at least they are not super-salty yet).

whoohoo I hope we dont see any snow.. (just jinxed myself) less snow means less threat of me spinging out the 8 and less chance of people hitting my 8.

i guess you can still drive with summers with the temps in the 50s. But a friday before last when it was 18 F, my tires turned to stone. Changed to snows pronto and now we have this warm weather.

Keep in mind though that Global Warming is just a myth created by left wing tree hugging extermist!
I just hope we get some snow soon so I can take the 8 out to a parkinglot and see how it handles. Hell my worst fear is not being able to get her up my street. I live on the bottom of a culdasac which is to the side of a hill so once I go up the hill I have to go down the hill again to get to the main street. Both of these are at decent inclines :;sigh:: Hey if my truck last year could do it the 8 should be easy.. (I hope).

400 miles of driving in 1 day. A lot through salt-covered NH roads. Some through slushtastic, saltastic roads.

Horrifying result below. I didn't realize the car got this bad, was quite a shock when I got out.

Solution:

Coin-op rinse 1st, propped up the front on ramps to make it easier to rinse the underbody:

Trapping Hi-C under the radiator (unsure how to remove that yet):

Rinsing helped a lot, but still plenty dirty:

Finally, all washed with Quick & Easy Wash:

Also installed front and rear rotary accents, but no pics.

I have decided to dive u on trying to "conserve" the snows. Its just too damned hard.

saltrocious

My car was filthy with salt after 800 of driving in a wet salty environment. Well, the weather forecast is keeping it dry for the next several days, so, it may be 15 degrees outside, but it's above freezing in the garage, and so I washed her today.

This was the eyesore this morning:

But all is well now!

N8theGr8, that does look chilly! must be quite a climate change for you.

we haven't really gotten that much snow here, I Haven't had a chance to really drive in any snow... just slush and wet. heck, not even much slush.

Was watching house lastnight at my friends house, when i left 1" of tightley packed snow on road..... took over an hour to go 17miles.... DSC is awesome, saved the car so many times last night. Still went backwards into a ditch at 1.4MPH making a right turn, but just turned off DSC and TC and reved it up to 8k and managed to get out.
