Pittsburgh and Western PA!!!
Fellow Pittsburgh residents and residents of the surronding areas. Our threads have all officially died.
We have tried many unsuccessful times to meet and the future looks bleak.
I was hoping to hear from Gambit, Cornrowdpantha, NYMGT, Seymour, and others I have not mentioned to possibly attempt another meet even though the weather is crap.
Just trying to gauge interest. If not interested, hit me back anyway. It is always good to hear from Local fellow 8 owners and see how they and their 8 is doing.
Anyone even remotely close(state college, philly, etc.) let me know if you guys may be interested too.
I know you guys from Phila/NJ are super active and its a bit far too, but you guys got any ideas/tips for us?

^^Haha, very nice. Again just a poor college student here. Anyone have suggestions on decent snow/all-around tires that work well? I'm still on stocks.

^^ I got a set of Avon all-season tires from Tire Rack last winter. They're decently priced and handle well in sub-zero conditions as well as light snow. I don't foresee going out in more than 6'' or so as the 8 would probably turn into a snowboard. I'll probabaly run the Avons until mid-April again, then throw the stock rubber back on.

I was in Pittsburgh for 4 years (graduated from Pitt about a year ago) but I'm back home now in York (south-central PA.) I'd help out but, a) my car is being repaired from someone hitting it while parked, and b) I freaking hate driving 3 hours down the turnpike (and paying $10 for the privilege.)

^^^Nope, I have blizzaks on....I honestly am very surprised by how the 8 handles in the snow . A few times I was caught off guard...and the traction control helped a lot!
I highly recommend blizzaks.

I ran my stock wheels for a couple of weeks last winter and it was fine until the temps dropped below 30 degrees...after which the summer rubber hardened leading to a few "Oh s#it" moments even with the DSC on.
I remember seeing another thread where someone got steels and all-seasons from Wal-Mart and they worked out for winter. Whatever it takes to keep your car out of the fence, ya know.

Hi all,
I'm a new RX-8 owner from North Hills area in the 'burgh. Got my 06 RX-8 from Moon Mazda in September. Velocity Red, 6 speed, GT, Appearance Package. I've already put a bunch of Mazda accessories on as well as an RP afermarket shifter. The RP shifter makes a big difference.
I don't plan to drive mine in the winter months as I have a Ford Explorer Sport Trac for that duty.
I don't see too many RXs around the area. I've noticed a yellow one and a silver one out around Robinson Twp on occation, but that's about it.
Going to take a spin with my son today since the weather isn't too bad.

You will not see that many around the 'burgh. There are some, but not too many. And some of the owners give you the deer in the headlights look when you wave at them.
Happy Thanksgiving Pittsburgh!!!
