To paint or not to paint
To paint or not to paint
I was thinking of painting my stock 8 rims gunmetal or black. i have a ti grey 8, anyone have some suggestions with the 2 colors or if i should just leave them and get aftermarket ones?
Personally, I feel like all black wheels kind of disappear. Especially if you have the stock rotors / hubs / calipers behind them. With a nice, shiny set of slotted / drilled rotors and aftermarket calipers it's a totally different story.
Given the choice of colors I would say gunmetal.
Given the choice to go aftermarket I would suggest that route. You get to customize your look to exactly what you like and have the chance to have a set of wheels that are less common. Plus you can slap some winter rubber on the stockers and have a sexy set in winter, too.

The Enkei RP03 look like gunmetal in the shade, but a nicely bright contrast in the Sun.
I personally have no use for black rims unless you're going for a Batmobile look.
Here's PoLaK's Ti Grey with RP03's (which I have recently acquired for my Shinka, btw):
