PA PA inspection

Hey all, Anyone got a good place for state inspection in the central Bucks County, PA area?

I've been in PA for four years and have a hellish time each year with this crazy system, meaning in Jersey I just drove through the little tunnel thing and they'd slap a sticker on -- for free. In PA, it's an all-day process, two fees, and of course they find something wrong because then they can hold you hostage (exaggeration noted) until you get something fixed. (Seriously, why would they NOT find something "wrong"??) Last year they swore it was "dangerous" to drive on my tires, which have tons of life left. Even the stealership said my tires are in the green!

I don't know if it's because I'm a female taking my 8 in by myself that they figure I'm stoopid, but I have this fight every year. Any suggestions for a decent place to go would be really appreciated, thanks!

I'm in Montgomery county now, but used to live in Bucks. My parents always took their car here growing up:

Keeble's Auto Service
580 Park Ave
Warminster, PA 18974
215-675-0121

I take my RX8 here currently:

Erdenheim Auto
601 Bethlehem Pike
Glenside, PA 19038
(215) 233-5530
Ask for Pip, he's the best.

Both are no frills, but dont charge for things they dont need to. Neither knows much about Rotaries however, but that shouldn't matter for a simple inspection.

in pa emissions test depends on what county you are in and has to be done in that county. in lackawanna its a gas cap check and look to see if the cat is there. monroe and wayne county have no emissions testing. some do a sniffer test, some its a obd2 scan. as far as i know the safety part can be done anywhere as long as emmissions were done in your county. im glad my brother has a shop lol

I dont think that's true. My license address and registration are both under my parents old address in Jamison PA (Bucks Co.) but I am living in Glenside PA (Montgomery Co.) and have gone through emissions and inspection with no problems. Either way, it looks like Bucks only is a gas cap and OBDII check according to what I found with a quick google search.

maybe it doesnt matter if the counties have the same emissions testing but i know my shops in my county wont do it if the vehicle is registered in a place that has tougher emissions testing

That makes sense. It looks like Bucks and Montco both have the same requirements, so that could explain it.

It might be a bit of a drive for you but I go to a friends shop up on airport road across from the (wait for it) airport

Ike's Airport Garage
3220 Airport Rd, Allentown, PA 18109

Ask for Mitch, tell him Chris the kid with the blue rx8 and fiat recommended you.

My parents have lived in Harleysville for decades, and my dad always takes his cars to Just Cruisin' in Harleysville. He knows several people there, and they seem very honest, although I bet they are not rotary experts. My dad keeps his cars forever, and Just Cruisin' seems good at helping him keep them on the road and safe without demanding unneeded repairs. His oldest van is a 1993 Caravan and his "new" van is a 1999 with 275K miles on the clock :-). Just Cruisin' has two locations, both in Montgomery County instead of Bucks, but you're probably not too far from their Harleysville shop.

Its really odd you have issues. I always found PA to be an easier state for inspections. I have never had an issue getting any of my modified cars inspected in this state. Only two more years till I can get classic plates on my rx8 and it becomes even simpler

It depends which county your in for ease of inspections.

Northumberland county is easy peasy.

Ahem...lemon squeezy
